Role Overview:

We are seeking a friendly and organised Supporter Engagement Assistant to join our Supporter Engagement Team. In this role, you will help build strong and lasting relationships with our supporters and donors, playing a vital part in advancing our mission.

Reporting to the Supporter Engagement Officer, you will provide excellent customer service through telephone, email, postal communications, and face-to-face interactions. You will accurately maintain supporter information in our CRM database while representing the charity’s values with empathy—particularly towards individuals affected by cancer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Excellent Customer Service
    • Respond promptly and professionally to supporter inquiries via phone, email, post, and in person.
  • Maintain Accurate Supporter Records
    • Input and update information in the CRM database to ensure data integrity and supporter history tracking.
  • Represent the Charity with Empathy
    • Communicate the mission and values of Yorkshire Cancer Research, showing understanding and compassion, especially when speaking with individuals affected by cancer.
  • Support Donor Engagement Activities
    • Assist in building long-term relationships with donors and supporters by providing information, resolving queries, and acknowledging contributions.
  • Collaborate Across Teams
    • Work closely with the Supporter Engagement Officer and other departments to support events, campaigns, and fundraising initiatives.
  • Assist with Administrative Tasks
    • Handle correspondence, prepare supporter communications, and assist with mailings and data reports as needed.
  • Contribute to a Positive Team Culture
    • Help foster a friendly, supportive, and inclusive working environment aligned with the charity’s goals and values.

Person Specification:

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Educated to A-level or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in customer service or a related role.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
