Role Details:
We are seeking an experienced Digital Asset Manager to lead the operational management and strategic development of Cancer Research UK’s Digital Asset Management (DAM) system. This role is central to improving how our creative assets—such as photos, videos, logos, and infographics—are stored, tagged, accessed, and governed.
You will collaborate closely with Creative Operations, Content Excellence, and Technology teams to:
- Implement new functionalities in the DAM system
- Optimize asset workflows and taxonomy structures
- Ensure compliance with licensing, permissions, and governance standards
- Drive system integration with other platforms and tools
- Support the ongoing digital transformation of our content operations
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the day-to-day administration, upload, audit, and archiving of assets in the DAM system
- Develop and enforce asset governance policies, including licensing and rights management
- Collaborate with taxonomy and content teams to maintain consistent tagging and categorization standards
- Identify and lead process improvements and new tooling implementations related to digital asset management
- Provide support and training to internal teams on DAM usage and best practices
- Prepare reports on asset usage, compliance, and system performance
- Serve as the main point of contact for digital asset enquiries across the organisation
Required Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience managing digital asset libraries or creative content repositories, ideally with platforms such as Bynder, Adobe Experience Manager, or similar
- Strong understanding of taxonomy, metadata, asset tagging, and categorization best practices
- Expertise in asset licensing, usage rights, and compliance across multiple media formats (photo, video, audio, etc.)
- Technical proficiency in DAM system administration, configuration, and optimization
- Familiarity with creative asset workflows across print and digital media
- Experience delivering tooling and process improvements within large, complex organisations
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Contract & Visa Information:
This is an 18-month fixed-term contract, with the possibility of extension subject to business needs. The role is based in Stratford, London, with flexible hybrid working options (typically 1-2 days in office per week).
