The Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (RSTMH) is seeking an experienced ICTMM Events Manager to lead the coordination and delivery of the International Congress for Tropical Medicine and Malaria (ICTMM) , a major global health conference to be held in Liverpool. This is a rare opportunity to contribute to one of the world’s most prestigious gatherings in tropical medicine, expected to host 1,500+ delegates from around the globe.
This role will begin on a part-time basis and progress to full-time in the 17 months leading up to the event.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the full project lifecycle of ICTMM in collaboration with RSTMH, the Professional Conference Organiser (PCO), IFTM, venue partners, and committee members.
- Develop detailed project plans, coordinate stakeholders, and ensure deadlines are met across teams.
- Build and maintain relationships with sponsors, partners, scientific committees, and plenary speakers.
- Oversee marketing communications, website content, newsletters, and promotional materials.
- Manage logistics related to travel, accommodation, registration, exhibition space, and visa support.
- Handle budget forecasting, tracking, and financial reporting.
- Support committee recruitment and meeting coordination.
- Ensure all event data is captured in the CRM and analytics systems.

Person Specification:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Minimum 3 years of experience managing national or international events (1,000+ attendees preferred).
- Proven ability to manage abstract-driven scientific events or educational conferences.
- Strong project management and budgeting skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, with the ability to produce high-quality content.
- Confidence working with boards, high-profile speakers, sponsors, and committee stakeholders.
- Experience working with Professional Conference Organisers (PCOs) and CRM systems.

- Must be eligible to work in the UK without visa sponsorship.
